About Me.
I am a Licensed Associate Professional Counselor (LAPC) in the state of Georgia and a Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC) by the National Board for Certified Counselors. I am also a certified perinatal mental health professional (PMH-C) through Postpartum Support International. I practice under the direction and supervision of two amazing therapists, Elizabeth O'Brien, LPC & Cassie Owens, LPC.
I have a passion for serving the needs of all women, with a special focus on supporting pregnant women and new mothers through the journey to parenthood. In addition to my education and clinical internship, I have received advanced specialized training in the field of maternal mental health, including completion of the 8-week Postpartum Support International and 2020 Mom Maternal Mental Health Certificate Training. I am also proud to serve on the Board of Directors for the Georgia Chapter of Postpartum Support International (PSI GA).
I graduated from Mercer University with a 4.0 cumulative GPA, where I was accepted into to the Chi Sigma Iota and Phi Kappa Phi Honor Societies. Prior to becoming a therapist, I had an accomplished career in marketing communications with more than a decade of professional experience in marketing services, project development, and client relations. My own journey of becoming a mother led me to explore a second career as a mental health counselor. I believe this personal and professional experience allows me to bring a unique perspective to the therapeutic relationship. Our work will focus on your unique needs and goals, and my approach is warm, interactive, and is strength-based.
My other clinical interests include, but are not limited to the treatment of anxiety and mood disorders, self-esteem, perinatal grief and loss, infertility, parenting complex children, and other life changes.
